I'm Brennan Schutt, the maker behind The Dark Blessing. This is dark luxury for your beard: every order handcrafted and made to order, right here in Michigan.
Before anything else, I'm a family man. I'm dad to five kids, four boys and one girl, and they're the reason I do all of this. Every order you place supports a real family, not a faceless corporation.
Where it started
It began in 2015, when I grew my first real beard and started trying every oil and balm I could get my hands on. Pretty quickly it became an obsession: what actually worked, what just smelled good, and why those two things so rarely came in the same bottle.
In 2018 I stopped searching and started making my own. Years of experimenting, testing and tweaking later, those first batches became The Dark Blessing.
Why “The Dark Blessing”
The Dark Blessing represents finding something extraordinary where others might overlook it. The “dark” is the mystery, atmosphere, and depth behind our scents and artwork. The “blessing” is what you take from the experience: confidence, individuality, and a daily ritual that feels like your own. Together, it’s beauty found in darkness.
What goes in the bottle
Every product is made with uncommon botanical oils and butters, chosen for fast absorption, deep conditioning and a clean finish. Nothing sits on a shelf waiting for you: your order is made fresh when you place it. Nothing heavy, nothing greasy. Just nourishment and performance you can feel.
Because no two beards are the same, every scent comes in three blends:
- Black Market: full-bodied conditioning for medium to coarse beards.
- Ethereal: a lightweight serum for finer beards and daily grooming.
- Emu: rich softness built around 40% emu oil, for rough beard hair and dry skin underneath.
